On 29 April 2022 the nib Group acquired Kiwi Insurance Limited, allowing us to provide greater value to our members by giving them access to life and living insurance, in addition to health and travel insurance.
What this means if you were a Kiwi Insurance policyholder on 29 April 2022
There is nothing you need to do. You’ll continue to get all the same great benefits that you get now, but there are some changes you should know about – these are outlined below:
Our legal name changed
The legal name for Kiwi Insurance Limited is now nib nz insurance limited, but it’s the same company and the same team continuing to look after you in the best way possible.

A new privacy policy applies
Policyholders with a policy underwritten by nib nz insurance limited will have their personal information transferred to nib, and it is now managed under the nib privacy policy.
Updated complaints process
You can find information about how we manage complaints on our complaints page. If we’re unable to reach a resolution, you’ll be able to escalate your complaint to the Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme (IFSO).
